DO THEY REALLY MATTER?
DO THEY REALLY MATTER?
Do black lives really?
What about the black boy
Shot by the black gang member?
Did his life matter?
Where were the protests for him?
What about the black woman who got
Her hair pulled
By another black woman
Did her life matter?
What about the black man
Who wasn’t black enough for you?
Did his life matter at the time you ridiculed him?
What about the black woman who
Was raped by the black man
or the black boy who stole
From a black business
What about the black mother who buried her black son
The whole neighborhood knows who killed him
But refuses to be a “snitch” and seek his justice.
What about the black child who killed
By a stray bullet shot by the bloods
Meant for the crips
What about the black son who was
Abandoned by his black father
Or the black daughter
Being kept from her black father
By her black mother
What about the black lady
You called a bitch
Did her black life matter?
It’s easy to protest the outsiders,
But get some courage and protest the insiders.
Do black lives really matter to black people?
