PHONE
Excerpt from “Poems From the Other Side” by Casey Bell
For a second, put it down
For a minute, look around
For an hour, go uptown
Enjoy nature, for a day
For a week, go to the bay
For a month, go outside and play
Your phone will still be there when you return
Still unimportant as you will learn
You will thank me later, I discern
Go out and have fun, the phone can wait
Take a class or two, or maybe eight
Go out and do something good, do something great
Put your phone down, go out and have fun
Enjoy your life before it is done
Enjoy your seconds before you have none
For a second, put it down
For a minute, put it down
For an hour, put it down
