Although this book is for single females, I have a feeling males and married folks are reading this too, so I am adding this section. This is great if you are married, but even better to know this information before you get married. Many people say all the time that there is no manual on marriage, but there has always been a manual on marriage: The Bible. Genesis chapters 1, 2, and 3 itself gives you 90% of what you need for marriage, but everyone missed it so I will break it down for you.
Genesis Chapter 1: (New International Version)
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
See how it says let “us.” Who are us? The Lord was referring to himself, YHWH (G-d the father), Yeshua (G-d the Son (Jesus)), and Ruach Ha Kadesh (The Holy Spirit). YHWH (Yahweh-pronounced Yah-way) is G-d in Heaven. When He came to earth, He came in an earth suit (Jesus). You know how space people need a space suit to go to space, well, G-d and we need an earth suit to come to earth. Finally, the Spirit of G-d (The Holy Spirit) speaks to us (our conscience.) We are the same. Our spirit (the real us) comes from Heaven. The body we have (the second part of us) is the earth suit we use to be on earth, and our soul is our mind. Have you ever been somewhere and felt like you’ve been there before? That is because your soul went while you were sleeping. Verse 27 though is something most people miss.
27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Adam and Eve’s spirits were made exactly at the same time. They were not made separately in Heaven, but at the same time. Our spirits are made in Heaven, but our bodies are made on earth.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground — everything that has the breath of life in it — I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
Did you notice that? He gave both Adam and Eve the same instructions at the same time while they were still in Heaven. Go back and read it again. It says G-d blessed them, not Adam alone, but them. In addition, G-d said they were to rule over the animals and insects, not each other. Verse 29 and 30 is how we know before the fall Adam and Eve were vegans. Our bodies were created as vegans so you are healthier as a vegan. (That was free info and had nothing to do with relationships).
Genesis Chapter 2: (New International Version)
4 This is the account of the Heavens and the earth when they were created, when the Lord God made the earth and the Heavens.
5 Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth[a] and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground, 6 but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. 7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
When you read chapter 1 of Genesis it says YHWH created earth. Then you get to Chapter 2 and it says there is nothing on earth. YHWH created earth spiritually first. He spoke things into existence before they were in existence. (Romans 4:17) In chapter 2 He now forms everything He created. In other words, inventors (creators) always create things in their mind, then they sketch it, make models, and then they build the invention. We see the final product when it is finished, but the creator sees it before it is finished. It is the same for theater, film, and television. The directors, choreographers, composers, and designers see the finished production in their mind then paper than in reality, but we only get to see the finished product. YHWH simply created it in His mind (Heaven) before earth. Although the spirit of Adam was created with Eve in Chapter one, in chapter two the body of Adam was formed before Eve’s. Although the choreography was done before the costumes, by the time you see the show you see both together. One is not more important than the other. Although Adam was formed on earth before Eve that does not make him greater than Eve. Many men believe because they are the “Adam” what they say goes in the relationship, but they forget YHWH gave Adam and Eve the exact same instructions together. So, it is not for the man to dictate the relationship it is his job to ask the Holy Spirit to remind him of the instructions given. Believe it or not you (man) and your wife were created at the exact same time in Heaven, but put on earth at different times. Your job as the man is not to be the head of the household. Your job is to allow the Holy Spirit to be the head (1 Corinthians 11:3). Once the both of you agree to allow the Holy Spirit to be the head than He will remind the both of you of your instructions and because you will both be in agreement (Amos 3:3) there will be no arguments. Arguments happen when the man wants to do things his way, and the woman wants to do things her way, instead of the both of them doing things the way the Lord instructed them in Heaven. Genesis Chapter 1 verse 28 is the Lord instructing Adam and Eve how their marriage should be. If you get selfish and do things your way that’s when marital problems appear.
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
When the two of you are in Heaven, the Lord instructs you both, however, there are some instructions the man receives once he is on earth that the woman will not receive. It is up to the man to instruct his wife and to make sure he upholds those instructions.
18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
19 Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.
It is time to break this one down for real. First and foremost, YHWH says it is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. YHWH told Adam to multiple. That was a command. Because, Adam could not multiple alone, YHWH needed to create a help meet so Adam could obey the command of multiply. That’s why the Lord said it is not good for Adam to be alone, because if Adam was alone then he wouldn’t be able to obey the command, multiply. So, YHWH created Eve. YHWH did not say Adam needs a cure, a car, a house, food, a job, love, peace, joy, common sense, knowledge, a degree, contacts, etc. He said Adam needs a wife. So, anything you need/want other than a wife you need to get that with the Holy Spirit, before you get married. Only go after what the Lord tells you to go after (not everyone needs a degree to be successful (i.e. David H. Murdock, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, etc.)). Adam had everything he needed before he was blessed with Eve. So, to all the Eves out there if he doesn’t have work, a vision for the both of you, a home, money, etc he is not ready for you. YHWH said it wasn’t good for the man (who had everything) to be alone, not the man who is sitting around doing nothing, not working, eating from his momma’s refrigerator, sleeping around with everyone, to be alone. If he is doing all those things than it is okay for him to be alone. Dr. Myles Monroe has many great teachings on marriage and relationships. Find them and read (books), listen (CDs), and watch (DVDs), as many as you can, if not all, before getting married.
