On May 20th each year, people around the world come together to celebrate World Bee Day — a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of bees and other pollinators for our planet’s health and biodiversity. This international observance serves as a reminder of the vital role that bees play in sustaining ecosystems, supporting food production, and promoting environmental sustainability.

Bees are remarkable creatures that have been around for millions of years. They are highly efficient pollinators, transferring pollen from the male parts of flowers to the female parts, enabling the reproduction of flowering plants. This process is crucial for the fertilization and production of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. In fact, it’s estimated that bees and other pollinators are responsible for pollinating around 75% of the world’s food crops, directly contributing to global food security.
